Rules of JCCF

Chapter 1:General
Article 1
The Group shall have the name of Japan Combinatorial Chemistry Focus Group (JCCF)
Article 2
The Group is founded for the purposes of promoting various researches on apparatus, bead, reagent, software and other means relating to synthesis, analysis and assay in combinatorial chemistry as well as exchange of information among the Group members by providing them an adequate framework in which ideas and knowledge can be shared and transferred.
Article 3
The Group's activity shall comprise organizing seminars, lectures and issuing of periodicals and other publications.
Article 4
The Secretariat shall consist of the Representative and Deputy Representative who are responsible for writing of minutes of meetings, sending of relevant information and notice, keeping of book of account and other matters necessary for success of the Group's activity.
Chapter 2: Members
Article 5
The Group shall comprise regular members and associate members who have subscribed to the purpose of the Group.
Article 6
The regular members shall pay the regular membership fee to be determined by the executive committee of the Group.
Article 7
The associate members shall consist of entities and individuals who support the Group's purpose and make payment of at least one unit (100,000yen) or more of the associate membership charge which shall be used for the Group's activity.
Article 8
An individual, entity or an organization who wish to join the Group shall comply with the registration procedures at the Group Secretariat including payment of annual membership fee. In principle, a member who has failed to make payment of his membership fee for two consecutive years shall lose his membership.
Chapter 3: Seminars
Article 9
The Group will hold seminars at regular interval. Such seminars shall be called by an organizer.
Article 10
The executive Committee of Group shall entrust management of the seminars to the organizer.
Article 11
The Representative of the Secretariat shall assist the seminar organizer in conjunction with proceeding, preparation and making of report.
Article 12
Time and place of the seminars shall be chosen by the organizer for approval of the Executive Committee.
Chapter 4: Officers
Article 13
The Group's officers shall be as follows:
- Group Representative (1)
- Representative of Executive Committee (1)
- Members of the Executive Committee (plural)
- Auditors (plural)
- Treasurer (1)
- Seminar Organizer (1)
- Secretariat Representative (1)
- Deputy Secretariat Representative (1)
Article 14
Appointment of the Officers shall be made as follows:
- Group Representative shall be appointed by the Executive Committee.
- Representative of the Executive Committee shall be appointed by the Executive Committee.
- Members of the Executive Committee shall be appointed by election among the members of the Group, subject to approval of the Executive Committee.
- Auditors shall be appointed by the Executive Committee.
- The function of Treasurer shall be assumed by Secretariat Representative.
- Seminar organizer shall be elected by mutual vote among members of the Executive Committee.
- Secretariat Representative shall be appointed from a member of the Executive Committee.
- Secretariat Representative may appoint his deputy when necessary.
Article 15
Functions of the Officers of the Group shall be as follows:
- Group Representative shall represent the Group and entrust its administration to the members of the Executive Committee.
- Representative of the Executive Committee shall assist Group Representative by presiding over the Executive Committee with the responsibility for overall management of the Group's activity.
- Members of the Executive Committee shall attend the Committee meetings to participate to decision-making and otherwise assist Representative of the Executive Committee in management of the Group's affairs.
- Auditors shall make audit of Group's accounting and conduct of business in general.
- Treasurer shall be responsible for making report of accounting for the Group's activity including seminars and other meetings. The Treasurer's report shall be audited by Auditors and then submitted to the Executive Committee for approval.
- Seminar Organizer shall be responsible for proceeding of Seminars of the Group.
- Secretariat Representative shall be responsible for management of the Group Secretariat.
Article 16
No fees, emoluments or salaries and the like shall be paid to the Officers of the Group.
Chapter 5: Executive Committee meetings
Article 17
The Group shall hold the following types of Executive Committee meetings for management of the Group.
Regular Executive Committee meeting
Extraordinary Executive Committee meeting
Article 18
The Executive Committee meetings shall be held in accordance with the following:
- Regular Executive Committee meetings shall consist of the members of executive committee and the Auditors.
- The Extraordinary Executive Committee meetings shall consist of members of the Executive Committee only.
- The Executive Committee meetings shall be convened by the Representative member of the Executive Committee on regular basis as well as otherwise when it is deemed necessary.
- Representative of the Executive Committee shall be the Chairman at the Committee meetings.
- Secretariat Representative is authorized to be present at the Executive Committee meetings for the purpose of writing minutes of meeting,
Chapter 6: Account
Article 19
Expenses of the Group shall be met by membership fees received from regular and associate members, contributions and other income.
Article 20
Treasurer shall make settlement of the Group's account on annual basis and prepare report for audit by Auditors and for approval of the Executive Committee.
Article 21
The Group's fiscal year shall start on January 1 and end on December 31 of each year.
Chapter 7: Amendment of the Rules
Article 22
The Executive Committee is authorized to adopt detailed rules necessary for management of affairs of the Group.
Article 23
The present Rules may not be amended or modified unless such amendment or modification has been duly approved by the Executive Committee.
Chapter 8: miscellaneous
Article 24
The Group's Rules shall become operative from March 31, 1997.
